Garden Apron Giveaway!

Garden Apron Giveaway!

  • Earlier this year, I started to get into sewing a bit. Naturally, the first project I chose was a garden apron. I have made a few as gifts and have decided to offer up another as a giveaway to one of you! There are still a few good weeks of gardening left. Fall is a perfect time to divide perennials, plant spring bulbs, prune shrubs, and protect those delicate rose bushes with added layers of mulch. I don’t know about you, but I think wearing a fancy garden apron in a hot pink zebra print will make these tasks much more fun! I’m sure it’ll make your neighbors super jealous, too!

To enter: Leave a comment with your biggest garden challenge. This will give me ideas for future posts and projects. I will select a winner randomly on September 26th!

Gosh… if this isn’t the Hottest gardening apron I have ever seen!! Anything to keep the spice!! Our biggest challenge is keeping birds & raccoons away from the strawberries. We have put netting over them.. it protects about 80% of them but wondering if there is something more to be done shy of caging the plants?

WEEDS is always a challenge. Sort of goes without saying.

  • Love the hot pink apron! Don’t count this an official entry since I already have an awesome Jenny gardening apron, but my biggest challenge right now is my sweet little magnolia tree in our front yard seems to be dying. Most of the leaves have turned brown and it just looks so unhappy. I’d love to be able to revive it!

  • Okay so spring planting is always a challenge for me. I’m just not that creative. I wish I had a cheat sheet of bulbs that look nice when planted together. Like which ones grow taller so plant them with these and this color with this, blah, blah…I know I could google it but then I get hit with too much information. Give me some ideas Jenny! And that cute apron!

  • Hmm, where to begin? I find gardening is encountering one problem after another, interupted by the occasional success. Here are just three problems I encountered this season:
    1. I divided my rhubarb plant into 3 and the “Mama plant” hardly grew all summer, while the “baby plants” did well.
    2. About half of my zucchini plants rotted on the end where the blossom was attached.
    3. I planted 6 columbine plants in a new flower bed and not a single one bloomed! Luckily they had very pretty foliage, but where are the flowers?

  • I think my biggest garden challenge is squirrels (aka rats with cuter outfits) and how I must tolerate them because my husband is Squirrel Boy. It’s a strain on the marriage, I tell ya!

  • Adorable apron!! My biggest challenge right now is the neighbor’s blackberry bushes coming over our fence. Well, actually it’s probably the lazy neighbors that do nothing with their yard and their weeds come over to ours. Other than moving, I’m not sure if there is much of a solution, but it sure is frustrating. My other big challenge is keeping our dogs out of the garden, but you have already helped with some great suggestions there! Thanks Jenny, for all the great tips and sharing your beautiful garden with us!

  • Love the apron, Jenny!
Being in the PNW, my biggest challenge is the nasty slugs! Plus, I have pets and a toddler so I have to find ways to get ’em that won’t harm the others people/pets that roam my yard. I think I will try the beer trick in a covered container next year…just have to do it. My nightly walks with a salt shaker doesn’t seem to make a dent. Man, I hate those slugs! ::shudder::

  • My biggest challenge is combating insects that eat my plants. Specifically aphids. I don’t like to use a lot, if any, insecticide so it is difficult.
